Hi Guys,
I noticed recently a lot of people have the status of "Donor" instead of "Senior Member", "Member", Junior Member etc.
How does one become a "Donor". I have donated to IV SEVERAL times in the past.
IV has started a donor Forum for contributing members.

Our monthly subscription based model will help members get access to this area for that time period. In the coming days we will be consolidating all previous subscribers who are continuing their subscription at present to be added as well. If you are an old continuing subscriber, and do not have access, do send an email to info at immigrationvoice.org with your name, email, amount subscribed every month and your IV ID. We will verify it and add you. If you have given a one time payment this month more than $25, we will be dividing it by $25 and the system will calculate the number of months you are subscribed. If you have the old $20/month subscription, please continue that. We will add you in the Monthly subscribers as well.
If you wish to subscribe, please click on the donate now link, adjacent to the green progress bar above and subscribe.
From now we will post IV updates on the donor forum so that members who contribute get the privilege of getting the information. If the information can be released for public, we will release it on the main forums after a delay. Donor forum will have the first access to the information. All donors will be identified by a 'donor' status in their profiles instead of junior/senior members.
If members want to start a thread in the donor forum, please add 'Donor Forum' before the the thread title so that everyone knows it is in the restricted area.
Admins will visit this area more often and answer questions from members. This will also enable more close coordination and communication between committed members. It is sometimes difficult for us to to read every post on the forum or post certain information for public consumption.

By the way, let me clarify that I have nothing against 2006 PD who got approved last month...but my frustration is against USCIS system who does not follow FIFO. Sorry if I have hurt someone's feelings.
This is really frustrating...moving EB2-I cut-off dates to Aug 2006, approving large number of 2006 PD cases and leaving 2003 - 2005 cases aside.

The reply that Ombudsman office wrote on Sep 11th came to my hand just today Oct 7th - looks like they have backlog in mailing letters as well.
Anyway - the summary of the letter is similar to he email discussion few days back ( as below ) ... USCIS should get back to me in 45 days i.e end of Oct 08
Today morning Ombudsman replied to my 2nd email ( as below) and confirmed my address - they said that a reply has been sent to me on Sep 11th for my 7001.
Then i sent a return email saying i didn't receive any reply till today Oct 2nd and he further emailed me back saying that USCIS must give me a response by Oct 30th on my Pending I-140. Keeping fingers crossed - will post here if i see any LUD or activity in my I-140 in the next 3 weeks time.

Gctest, Pallavi79 etc present a faulty hypothesis and case to mask and promote their myopic self-interests.
e.g. "Eb2 people are highly qualified compared to EB3" - Nowhere in US immigration-based legislation do we find such support for such a categorical assertion.
EB categories are EMPLOYMENT BASED - simply put, the requirements of the job determine EB category. Not whether one is smarter than the other.
There is another 10+ page thread on this very topic where this issue has been examined threadbare. Based on current law there is nothing illegal in this porting practice. Also, there is no place for 'ethical' categorization in the letter of the law.
Porting is a legally supported practice which is tied to LABOR and JOB requirements, not to one's esteemed sense of self worth.
There are numerous BUSINESS reasons why EB3 to EB2 porting is allowed. Why not focus on other forms of irrational immigration practice like the 7% quotas which amount to discrimination based on national origin?

not every h1 guy can or will apply for GC. For example many of this big indian IT companies, with lot of H1s in hand, either dont apply GC for employees or they have very strict policies so that most dont qualify.
I know for sure , coz i am a victims of such situation :)
many of those H1s (>50% in cases I have come across) jump to a US company here and start their GC here.

Sharing what I read on IV - some members reported their 140 status reverted to 'pending' along with a recent LUD when their ex-employer revoked already approved 140. In your case, status is not changed. Keep an eye on status. Hopefully, CIS will not do another wrongful denial, crossing my fingers. Best Luck bro!

I called USCIS customer service to ask for the attorney name on file and they said that they didn't have access to that information and I would have to get an Infopass appointment for that. Given the crap that ChanduV had to deal with (for changing jobs on AC21) during his infopass appointment, it is probably best I just wait to ask that question until my second biometric appointment is due in a few months.

If the girl is working and earning money, she has all the rights to spend the way she wants, including giving money to her parents. If she is not working, then help should be based only on humanitarian basis because we never know when one's financial situation changes. I can't understand how any girl can force her husband to spend for her parents and siblings especially when she is not earning.

Can there be link for FAX for the guest members? I can get about 100 people to send fax. They are members of Indian community (many are citizens) and may not have time to make phone calls. But with simple provision to send fax at one time to all these senators, I am pretty sure I can get 100 people to send faxes.

Joined small company in 11/2010, Perm EB2 - 12/22/2010 - Approved on 01/06/2011
I140 Premium - 03/02/2011. Both 140 and 485 approved on 03/15/2011 - Current Law Firm received 140 approval notice on 03/18/2011, Previous company's law firm received 485 approval on the same day.

One one hand you have folks who are getting labor approvals from BECs just now and have not filed I-140s.
On other hand you have PERM folks who have Labor, I-140 certified in 2 weeks.
Don't you think this provision is a bit harsh on those who've waited 3+ years for labor in BECs ?
Not a bit harsh but very harsh. There are cases of people who have waited for 5 years and are still stuck in BEC. Now if this bill passes, they will have to apply all over again. There are also people who have gone through the PERM process and have not applied I140. Sometimes PERM process can take upto 1 year if the HR and Lawyer is slow in the recruitment process and unresponsive.
On other hand you have PERM folks who have Labor, I-140 certified in 2 weeks.
