Lecture is needed whenever the expert forgets. And you did use it first in this "discussion". Not mentioning past here. When at fault, just listen up to the music. And I repeat, it's not personal. Personally, I would like nothing better than associate in cooperative spirit and stop all childish bickering.

Maybe it was the same woman - I went to DC embassy last year for passport renewal and the lady officer was rude and reckless. she started talking to me in hindi/hurdu, without any regard to whether or not i understood her language. I said stop - talk in english and she fumed at me! i told her i couldnt understand whatever language she was speaking but she refused to speak in english. i somehow gave my papers to her and she processed it. it was like dealing with some foreign embassy.

A group of us just went to Lamar Smith's Austin District Office and detailed his liason about the bills, benefits and information about IV. She said she will have them Fedex'd today to their Washington office and keep us informed about congressman's stand.

I understand your friends marriage is important and you can't miss it at any cost.
I'm hoping that since you anyways plan to be in Troy that day, you can try to attend for 15 minutes-30 minutes and then leave for your friends ceremony. I don't think the meeting will be a whole day afair. It might last half an hour to an hour max. Please consider the possibility of partial attendance, if possible, while attending your friends marriage - as every extra member attending the meet is a moralebooster to the rest of us.
It would be great if we can have you there, even if it's just for a few minutes. (You can call one of us later for more details)

People with EB3-India may not expect any kind of fast movement in near future, unless law changes. It will be in snail phase. It is waste discussion to analyze howmany people filled EB3 LC from India in 2002,2003 etc. Generally EB3 is very high demand catagory from all accross the world. EB3 contains skilled worker catagory including cooks, nurses, and so many many non-professional occupations. All the discusion are focussed on demand by Indian IT folks, by ignoring other spectrum of the demand by other group of peoples. Therfore no matter what; EB3-India will get only 3000 EB3 GC per year (Approxmatly 1500 primary).
1500 LC per year EB3 India is a tiny fraction of the demand by EB3 India. Therefore best advise in EB3 India folks to convert into EB2 to get use of early PD like 2002 or 2003.

No . I don't think it is meaningless. It is just a reminder to those who boarded here earlier ( not too in the distant past , say before 200 years ) and now concerned about controlling diversity .

My hearty congratulations to all the "LEGAL" workers who can file the 485 on July 1. Also to those who now have some hope in "LEGAL" process.
I consider this movement as a lottery to people who came here legally and had the patience to go through the painstaking process.
Moving on I think we need to understand the following aspects:
1. Implication on H1 B requirement / extension during this process
2. Impact on Travel to home country during this process
3. Processing timeline of recurring EAD and Green Card
My views are that due to enormous amount of applications coming in this and next month 485 department will be over allocated and we will certainly see a back log moving from "priority dates" to actually getting the EAD and other docs. So it might actaully result in a year - year long wait just for getting EAD.
I am not also clear on when can travel back and forth to India with 485 pending.Finally do I need H1 B when I have EAD or not.
Hope this forum has many people with these questions now.
But again this is huge day for immigrants especially Indians as we were the most backlogged in the whole world. Make sure you book medical appointments as there going to be a bombadment for these requests.

I would love to attend the rally. However my financial condition at this time does not permit me. I could have booked a ticket on my credit card but all my cards are max out!
You want to know why I am in this financial deep hole? Well, I have two sons in college and paying out of state tuition, that is over $17,000 per semester for both of them.
My wife on H4 could not work until now that she has an EAD. It is retrogression that I should blame and I would love to do all in my power to obtain relief or bring the issue to the attention of the American public.
In my own way I have contributed to IV both in cash and in kind. I have told me story in countless media interviews. I only wish I could do more for IV financially but alas I am not able to do that at this time.
I would be in the rally in spirit....only I wish I could attend in person.
